In the Poltava region, law enforcement officers exposed an organized group of persons who were engaged in the illegal production and sale of counterfeit perfumes and cosmetics of famous world brands. This was announced by the Office of the Prosecutor General on Tuesday, July 22.
According to the investigation, the unlawful activity lasted from December 2022 to January 2025. During this period, the dealers launched illegal production in the territory of the region, creating a full cycle - from manufacturing to the sale of fake products. At the same time, they used signs for goods and services without the permission of the company companies, which was misled by consumers.
Marking and names identical to the well -known brands were used to cover criminal activity, which allowed the sale of products as "original". Previous calculations indicate that the total losses caused to the right holders exceeded UAH 8.5 million.
As a result of the searches, law enforcement officers seized about 3,000 bottles of counterfeit perfumes, computer equipment and electronic media with full sales. At the same time, three persons have already been informed of suspicion under Article 229 (3) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - the illegal use of signs for goods and services committed by a group of persons, which caused particularly high material losses.
Law enforcement officers assured that thanks to operational actions, the forged products did not get into official retail networks, which will protect consumers and brands from harm. Investigative actions are ongoing.
