In Ukraine, an introductory campaign is underway, which once again demonstrates youth educational priorities. According to the results of the submitted applications and the total number of students, most often entrants choose the specialty "Law". At the same time, there is a lack of staff in the industries that are important for the economy and rebuilding the country.
According to the available data, more than 75 thousand people study in the specialty "Law". Further, the number of students go management, psychology, secondary education and computer science. The popularity of humanities and social specialties exceeds interest in technical areas.
The Parliament's Education Committee draws attention to the fact that such a choice of entrants does not always meet the strategic task. In the technical, engineering and natural fields, a shortage of specialists is already noticeable. It is expected that with the beginning of the country's recovery, the need for such specialists will increase significantly.
In order to solve the problem, a program of modernization of natural classes in schools was launched. This should provide better preparation of students in accurate and natural disciplines and intensify their interest in them at the stage of choosing a profession.
Educational analysts believe that the state should not only improve the material base, but also form an understanding of the importance of technical and scientific professions through information campaigns, support for young scientists and promoting graduates.
