The Verkhovna Rada has approved the new government composition

On July 17, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine approved a new Cabinet of Ministers, headed by Yulia Sviridenko. The decision was made during a plenary session of parliament through a batch vote - which means that the entire composition was supported by one decision, without consideration of each candidate separately. 253 MPs voted in favor of the resolution, 13 were against, 23 abstained, and six did not vote.

The new government includes a number of personnel permutations and the preservation of some of the previous ministers. In particular, Mikhail Fedorov became the first Viceremier-Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation. Alexei Sobolev was headed by the United Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture. Svetlana Grinchuk was appointed Minister of Energy, Denis Ulyutin - Minister of Social Policy, Family and Unity, Herman Galushchenko - Minister of Justice. Taras Kachka became a viceremer on European and Euro -Atlantic integration.

Alexei Kuleb (Viceremier-Minister-Minister of Infrastructure and Territories), Igor Klimenko (Minister of Internal Affairs), Viktor Lyashko (Minister of Health), Sergey Marchenko (Minister of Finance), Natalia Kalmykov (Minister of Affairs) remained in their positions. Science).

In addition to personnel decisions, the government conducted a large -scale structural reorganization. The Ministry of Defense combined with the Ministry of Strategic Industry. The Ministry of Economy, Environmental and Agro -Policy were combined into one department. The Ministry of Social Policy has attached the powers of the former Ministry of National Unity.

They also liquidated the post of Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers - its functions were transferred to the Government Secretariat. The new structure and team of government are expected to respond more effectively to the challenges facing Ukraine in war and recovery.
