Former Ambassador of Ukraine to Germany Andriy Melnyk in his interview with Glavkom criticized the results of recent elections in Eastern Germany, who found that an average of 45% of voters in three lands (Saxony, Thurinium and Brandenburg) support the right -winger Lyzhad. Wagenknecht (BSW).
Melnyk noted that these results are a serious threat to Ukrainian interests, despite the attempts of many to diminish their importance. "The right -wing AFD and the left -wing BSW are, as we say," a good couple - Semen and Odarochka. "These two political forces glued from one anti -Ukrainian dough. Their joint denominator is the undeniable support of Putin's imperial Russian Russian.
In predicting the following parliamentary elections to the Bundestag, Melnyk expressed skepticism to reduce AFD and BSW support at the entire Germany level. “The real threat is that in the landscapes of the three East German lands it will be almost impossible to create stable government coalitions without the participation of the candid Putinist Sarah Wagenknecht. It is actually blackmailing the people's parties - the CDU and the SDP, demanding from them the support of Ukraine, the exposure of Ukraine.
Melnyk also noted that even if Christian Democrats are defeated in the parliamentary elections and Friedrich Merz will become a chancellor, this does not guarantee the strengthening of Ukraine's support. "Unfortunately, in the current political situation in Germany, this remains a big question," the diplomat summarized.
