Expirer of Presidential Administration Viktor Yanukovych, lawyer Andriy Portnov, a few days before his murder in Madrid was in Ukraine and held meetings with high -ranking officials responsible for the work of law enforcement agencies. According to them, Portnov was in Ukraine on May 17-18. During his visit, he met with representatives of law enforcement agencies, but the details of these negotiations are not disclosed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine officially confirmed the receipt of the death of Portnov and informed all the relevant bodies for further response. Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said at a briefing on May 23 that the Ukrainian side has official information from the Spanish authorities on the fact of murder.
“As he was a citizen of Ukraine, we have received appropriate official, formal information of the Spanish side. Currently, appropriate procedures are ongoing that require time to be made public - I mean from the Spanish side. We have this information about the fact of murder, ”Sibiga said.
The investigation is ongoing, and the causes and circumstances of Andrei Portnov's death remain the subject of investigation of Spanish law enforcement.
