Ukrainian football legend Andriy Shevchenko brought to Ukraine his "golden ball", which 20 years ago became a symbol of his exceptional achievement in world football. According to the press service of the Ukrainian Football Association (UAF), the trophy will be in Kyiv from December 7 to December 15, and then its "tour" cities of Ukraine will begin.
The solemn start of the Golden Ball exhibition took place in the park. Taras Shevchenko in Kiev, where everyone could see one of the most prestigious awards of world football. The trophy will then be presented at the railway stations in the following cities: Kramatorsk, Ternopil, Khmelnitsky, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Zaporizhzhia, Dnipro, Kharkiv, Yagotin (Andrey Shevchenko's hometown).
In each of these cities, residents will be able to see the Golden Ball and take a photo with a unique football artifact. "20 years ago, in December 2004, Andriy Shevchenko received this award as the best footballer of the planet. In honor of the anniversary, I brought the Golden Ball to Ukraine to share this achievement with compatriots," Andrey Shevchenko said. It is worth noting that Shevchenko remains the only Ukrainian who has received a "golden ball" during independence. This achievement became the pinnacle of his brilliant career in Dynamo Kiev clubs, Milan and Chelsea, as well as in the national team of Ukraine.
This tour is not only a reminder of the sports triumph, but also a symbol of inspiration and unity for the whole country. In particular, Andriy Shevchenko emphasizes that the Golden Ball belongs not only to him, but also to all Ukrainian fans who supported him on the way to success.
