Foreign Minister of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga, speaking to the UN Security Council in New York, said Ukraine seeks to reach peace because of force, not because of weakness. This performance was timed to 1000 days from the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia.
Sibiga emphasized the huge price that Ukraine has already paid during the years of struggle, and warned the world against the danger of choosing a strategy for pacification of the aggressor.
According to Sibiga, Russia's war against Ukraine has consequences not only for Ukraine but also for global security.
The Ukrainian government official called on the UN member states to admit that this war is a threat to the whole world, not just to a separate country. Sibiga stressed that only a strong position based on the principles of international law can ensure a stable peace.
