The head of the "Servant of the People" faction David Arahamia put forward the idea of conducting military exercises for people's deputies and civil servants in order to stimulate national patriotism and to cause confidence in the people in unknown situations. He made this proposal when discussing the topic “2024: Scenarios for the Country”.
Arahamia believes that deputies and officials should undergo military training at a level with other citizens, but for them these training can be organized partially. He emphasized the importance of explaining the process of mobilization of citizens, as many people are mistaken, believing that having received a summons and undergo a medical examination, they immediately go to the front without proper training.
In order to clarify this issue, according to Arahamia, it is important that officials and deputies undergo a military training course, which is considered to be considered to be understood by citizens.
An important stage in consideration of this issue in the Ukrainian Parliament was also the statement of the People's Deputy and the Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee of Ehor Chernev on consideration of the possibility of introducing general military service for citizens for up to 25 years.
