The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, during the meeting of the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine in the Rammstein format, announced that the North Korean troops fighting on the side of Russia have already lost 4,000 soldiers.
"Putin not only continues his investments in aggression, he doubles them. He even started recruiting soldiers from North Korea to keep this war going. North Korea studies modern warfare. They do not value their people. And we know it. They are losing them - 4,000 as of now," Zelensky emphasized.
The president also noted that North Korea is using this conflict to gain experience that can be used in future wars, possibly in the Indo-Pacific region.
Zelensky emphasized that cooperation between Russia and North Korea is a manifestation of the Kremlin's weakness. "No ruler in Moscow would ever stoop to begging in Pyongyang unless he faced critical problems," he said.
The head of state called on Ukraine's partners to increase pressure on Russia, in particular through sanctions, especially in the energy sector. He emphasized that further restrictions and supply of the necessary weapons are critical for the victory of Ukraine.
