Australia continues to actively support Ukraine during the war, providing significant military aid. As Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga stated during a joint briefing with Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong in Kyiv, Ukraine received 49 Abrams tanks and 14 boats from Australia.
“We are deeply grateful for military assistance, including the recent provision of 49 Abrams tanks and 14 boats. The total amount of Australia's aid amounted to more than 1 billion dollars, of which 880 million is military support," Sibiga said.
During the meeting, the Ukrainian side also expressed a request for further military assistance. Special attention was paid to the possibility of transferring Bushmaster armored vehicles and other weapons.
"We will also offer to take into account the needs of Ukraine when decommissioning the military equipment that is in service with the Australian Defense Forces," the minister added.
These supplies are part of a general package of support aimed at strengthening Ukraine's defense capabilities. Cooperation between Ukraine and Australia demonstrates the importance of international solidarity in countering threats to global security.
