From January 1, 2025, the cost of car insurance in Ukraine will increase significantly, almost twice. The main reasons for this increase in price are the introduction of new insurance rules that will bring the system up to European standards, as well as the change in the dollar exchange rate.
Oleg Nazarenko, general director of the All-Ukrainian Association of Automobile Importers and Dealers, said in a comment for the Trukha Telegram channel that the innovations include significant changes in insurance rules that will come into effect in 2025.
One of the main changes is the introduction of free pricing for autocivilian policies. From now on, insurers will determine prices themselves, in accordance with European standards. Insurance payments for car repair and treatment of victims will gradually approach the European level.
At the first stage, payments for car repair will increase from 160,000 UAH car up to 250 thousand hryvnias, and payments for the treatment of victims — from 320,000 UAH. UAH up to 500,000 UAH These changes will significantly affect the final cost of insurance.

- Cancellation of the deductible: the insurance will cover repairs without taking into account the wear and tear of the car.
- The insurance will cover repairs even at the service station without taking into account the wear and tear of the car.
- Victims of road accidents will be able to apply for payments to their insurers, and not to the companies of the culprits.
- Reduction of payment terms to 60 days.
- Cancellation of limits according to the Europrotocol, which will allow to receive compensation in full.
