Belgium will provide Ukraine with 100 million euros for the maintenance of F-16 fighters

Within the 25th military assistance package for Ukraine, Belgium undertakes to allocate 100 million euros for the maintenance of F-16 combat aircraft, which will be received by our country.

Defense Minister Manvin Deadnder on Friday announced that the Belgian government approved the 25th Military Assistance Plan for Ukraine. This plan includes an obligation to allocate 100 million euros for the maintenance of the F-16 aircraft fleet, which are currently transferred to Ukraine.

Belgium is one of 13 countries that are aircraft that contributes to the preparation of pilots for the F-16 under the guidance of the Netherlands, Denmark and the United States.

It is noted that Belgium, together with the defense sector, will continue to support Ukraine in the struggle for the return of its territories. In October last year, during his visit to Brussels Vladimir Zelensky, the country of the country pledged to hand over to Ukraine F-16 aircraft in 2024. The final decision will be made in accordance with the Belgium Government, which will be in power at that time.

In 2024, Belgium plans to provide Ukraine with military assistance worth 611 million euros and participate in six coalitions to support the Armed Forces of Ukraine and train Ukrainian servicemen.

During his visit to Kiev, Prime Minister Alexander de Kroo said that this year, Belgium's total contribution to Ukraine's military support will exceed 1 billion euros.
