Belarus tested a new missile near the border with Ukraine

The Belarusian military tested a new 9M318 anti-aircraft managed missile for the Buk-MB2 SC complex near the border with Ukraine. The incident has caused air anxiety in the north of Ukraine, according to Belaruski Gayun's monitoring group.

The tests were held in the territory of the Olmanske swamp, which is part of the new area of ​​flight restriction in southern Belarus. On this site is the former 41st aviation landfill (Merlin), where shooting took place.

The 9M318 rocket is intended to be affected:

  • high -speed maneuverable aerodynamic purposes, including drones;
  • tactical missiles of different types;
  • helicopters;
  • land goals.

Similar trials were conducted in this territory in February 2022, when the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus performed launches of missiles of the "point-y" complex within the Belarusian-Russian exercises "Union Decidence".

The flight restriction zone, within which these tests are conducted, operates until December 20, 2024. It covers heights from Earth to 20 km and forbids flights of any aircraft.

Gayun's monitoring group notes that the tests in this area can continue in the coming days, which can cause further voltage in the border regions. The test of new rocket technologies in Belarus is in close proximity to the border with Ukraine because of possible provocations or escalation of the situation.
