The White House announced the lowest inflation rate in the US since the pandemic

The US government has announced that it has achieved the lowest inflation rate in the country since the pandemic, successfully reducing the prices of fuel and some basic food items. This information was provided by White House spokeswoman Karin Jean-Pierre in a statement on Thursday.

"Inflation continues to decrease, and the economy is growing. "Today, annual inflation has fallen to the lowest level in more than two and a half years, and monthly inflation remains at zero," the representative of the White House said.

She emphasized that the government managed to reduce gasoline prices by $1.77 per gallon from the time they peaked due to Russia's conflict with Ukraine. In addition, the cost of some food products has also decreased.

"The United States economy grew by more than 5% during the last quarter, which is the fastest growth rate during the Trump era in the post-pandemic period," Jean-Pierre emphasized.

However, she also acknowledged that prices remain high and the administration is making additional efforts to lower costs for the public. Measures include improving the efficiency of supply chains, reducing drug prices, tackling hidden fees and other initiatives.
