Blinken about the Kharkiv region: Ukraine will be able to hold the front line

US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken expressed his belief that Ukraine will be able to continue to hold the front line in the eastern part of the country, in particular in the Kharkiv region.

The State Secretary was asked to comment on the situation in the Kharkiv region, as well as the probable increase in the number of Russian troops.

He noted that the months-long delay in allocating new funding to aid Ukraine "was not cheap." But this week, the US announced the second package of military aid to Ukrainian defenders worth $400 million after a pause.

According to Blinken, both the USA and Europe are doing everything possible to speed up the delivery of weapons to Ukraine.

" I am convinced that Ukraine will be able to effectively hold the line (front - ed.) in the east , will be able to continue to use the advantages achieved in the Black Sea... And also keep Russian forces under the crosshairs, including in Crimea, so that it will be more difficult for them to continue this aggression . We are providing weapons for this, but now is a difficult moment," the state secretary emphasized.

He added that the USA, like the rest of the 50 allied countries of Ukraine, "will not go anywhere". Help will continue.

"And if Putin (Russian dictator Vladimir Putin - ed.) thinks he can overpower Ukraine, overpower its supporters, he is wrong," the state secretary noted.
