The German industrial giant Bosch has announced the closure of two plants in the country due to the deterioration of the economic situation. More than 500 workers will be reduced, which caused both workers and trade unions. About it reports the German edition of Bild .
We are talking about factories in the cities of Zebnitz (Saxony) and Linfelden-Echterdingen (Baden-Württemberg), which specialize in the production of power tools-in particular, shock drills, corner grinders and gardening equipment.
The main reason for this decision is the company a long fall in demand in the construction sector and general economic instability. In the face of reducing the consumer activity, Bosch is forced to review the structure of production and optimize costs.
“This decision is difficult for us. All the costs of reducing the costs and increasing the efficiency we have already implemented have not had the expected effect, ”said Thomas Donato, the head of the Bosch Power Tools unit.
Production will be transferred to other factories of the company, in particular to the Hungarian city of Mishkoltz, where there is a large production enterprise Bosch.
In addition, the company implements other restructuring programs that can affect the further reduction of staff. It is a potential loss of work for several thousand workers in different regions.
Trade unions have already declared their intention to resist the closure of the factories and announced a number of protest actions. According to representatives of labor collectives, the closure of such enterprises undermines the economic stability of entire regions.
