“We provide weapons to Ukraine to protect its sovereign country. And this does not prevent them from striking the goals in Russia, but Ukrainians should do it. This should be done within the framework of international humanitarian law, ”he said in an interview with a British radio station.
The Guardian reminds that the new British Prime Minister Cyrus Starmer has previously stated that Ukraine would be able to use Storm Shadow missiles against goals in Russia, but only for "defense" purposes. On Friday, Zelensky appealed to the Cabinet of Ministers to use Storm Shadow missiles against Russian purposes. He also urged ministers to help create a defense-industrial base of Europe, since leaders of the world adapt to the possibility of coming to the power of the second, more isolationist administration of Trump.
After that, Downing Street stated that the British ministers "confirmed their commitment to support Ukraine on all fronts-from military and financial support to ensuring that Ukrainians living here receive support and felt the main message of the United Kingdom that we are all united around them."
