Britain is considering a return to military service

The United Kingdom plans to return to general military duty if the Conservative Party retains its power after the next parliamentary elections. Prime Minister Risha Snak has expressed this plan.

Snak's strategic advisers are concerned about the growing threat from authoritarian countries such as Iran, China, North Korea and Russia.

The Conservative Party's election campaign initiative provides that after reaching the age of 18 and graduation, British and British young people should either serve in the Armed Forces for 1 year, or volunteer in their community for 25 days, helping firefighters, police or medical services.

Sunna stated: "Those who claim that it is unreasonable to oblige such a service, I will answer that citizenship provides not only rights but also obligations."

He explained that his plan does not mean a return to the general call that existed in the UK until 1960. However, according to the Prime Minister, only a limited number of school graduates will choose military service after strict selection.

The plan envisages the introduction of the initiative in September next year, and the cost of its implementation is estimated at $ 3.2 billion a year. Since the coming to power in 2010, the Conservative Party has gradually reduced the number of Armed Forces of Great Britain, which currently accounts for 183,000 active servicemen with 33,000 volunteer reservists.

However, the Opposition Labor Party strongly expressed criticism of Snak's initiative, calling it a "desperate attempt" to raise the rating of its party before the election.
