The UK government has announced the closure of one of the programs to enter Ukrainian citizens into the country.
This program, known as Ukraine Family Scheme, has previously allowed Ukrainian citizens to enter for reunification with family members or extension of stay in the UK.
According to the program, Ukrainians had access to state funding and the right of residence, work and training in the United Kingdom for up to three years. However, now this program has ceased to exist.
Ukrainians who wish to join relatives in Britain have the opportunity to apply for the Homes for Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme program. This program allows entry to the country with the support of a sponsor-citizen of Britain or Ireland, who can provide housing.
According to the latest data, as of November 2023, more than 192 thousand Ukrainians have already arrived in Britain on two major government programs - Homes for Ukraine, where British families accept refugees, and Ukraine Family Scheme, which allowed Ukrainians to join the family members.
