British intelligence encourages a career in its agency

Working in MI6 can be more exciting than a movie about James Bond, said the BBC of the British Intelligence Department.

The officer, who is called Kvame only, said he saw "much more than what they show in spy films."

He added that many give the impression that everyone who works in Mi6 is white men, middle -class representatives.

"This is not true," Kvame said.

KVAME is the first dark -skinned spy to interview. He communicated with BBC Radio 1xtra from the Agency's London headquarters.

"It's more exciting than James Bond," Kvame said of his work, to which he seeks to attract more dark -skinned people and British of Asian origin.

“Things that will impress you”

"I saw very cool things. The things that will impress you," says the scout. "And you can only see them from the inside."

Kvame called himself the director of organizational development-in fact it is a financial and HR director-and said that their goal-to tell people that anyone can work on Mi6, regardless of its ethnic or other origin.

"The problem is that when they talk about James Bond, other connotations occur," he says.

"I am afraid to think that everyone who works here - white middle -class men who go to Aston Martin, love women and so on.

He also said that the head of the agency technology department is a woman, as well as her deputy, and there are many women in the agency.

In addition to the head of Sir Richard Mura, whose name is called publicly, Mi6 employees work on anonymity.

Kvame said he told where he works, his wife and sister, but not for children.

According to him, working in the agency is well paid, but his main motivation is the value that his work has.

"After all, our mission is to protect the United Kingdom and protect the people of the United Kingdom," Kvame said.

Mi6 is the UK external intelligence service, which is officially called the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS).

In fact, it is an analogue of the American CIA, but the British agency is more classified.

She was instructed to collect reconnaissance data abroad to ensure the security of the country, and its main goals are obstruction of terrorism, the activities of hostile states and the strengthening of cybersecurity.

The name Mi6 is deciphered as Military Intelligence, Section 6 - that is, military intelligence, unit 6.

Along with the Internal Security Service (MI5), the Government Center (GCHQ) and Defense Intelligence (DI), MI6 works under the formal guidance of the Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC).

British intelligence, together with American colleagues, gathered data on a full -scale invasion of Russia into Ukraine - in particular, about Putin's plans to start it.

According to reconnaissance data, which began to be published at the end of 2021, the first signs of a future invasion were recorded in the spring of that year, and by the summer, the intelligencers knew that the invasion was being planned.

However, only at the end of 2021 - after the materials have been officially evaluated and the Joint Reconnaissance Committee published a balanced opinion that the invasion was "very likely", in Britain began to understand the reality of what was happening.

But the unprecedented publication of intelligence was not enough to stop the invasion.

Subsequently, in 2023, in the second year of the full -scale war, Mi6 Mur Mur head called Russians who did not support the invasion of Ukraine, "unite efforts" with the United Kingdom and spy in his favor to help stop bloodshed.

"I invite them to do what others have been doing for the last one and a half years and unite with us. Our doors are always open," Mur said Politico in July last year.

Two months earlier, the CIA also made a similar call to the Russians.
