British and French troops can be in Ukraine but not as peacekeepers

Currently, the UN peacekeeping mission in Ukraine is impossible, and military support from European countries is being discussed instead. The US Army General Rare Clark, a former NATO united NATO Armed Forces, shared his thoughts on this issue, in particular the possibility of having British and French troops in Ukraine.

Clark noted that there is a chance that the UK troops and France can be sent to Ukraine, but not within the framework of the UN peacekeeping mission. According to him, 70-80% of the likelihood that these troops will be present in Ukraine, but these will not be peacekeepers, but forces ready for active fighting. "These are not peacekeepers, they are not blue helmets. It is necessary to repel," the general said, emphasizing the need for strong defense if Russia is breaking the reconciliation.

According to Clark, if Russia violates any temporary ceasefire agreements, European countries must give a decisive response. This will be part of the pan -European opposition to Russian aggression. "All Europe will have to resist the Russian army," he said. The general also specified that the truce can only be temporary and should last several weeks or months, but not for years.

Clark recalled that such negotiations, as it was during the Vietnam or North Korea war, can last for decades. However, in the case of Ukraine, these negotiations should be part of the strategic fight against misinformation and attempts to stop mobilizing or assembled weapons.

The expert stressed that Ukraine needs to recognize reality: these negotiations do not have clear time limits and can be long -lasting. At the same time, he stressed that the fight against misinformation and stability on the front is important elements for preserving the lives of the Ukrainian military and preventing great losses.
