The Czech Republic was unable to raise enough funds for shells for Ukraine

Funds for the Czech initiative to supply shells to Ukraine are not enough: some of the weapons may not arrive until the end of the year.

This is reported by the Czech publication iRozhlas with reference to the Estonian authorities.

According to Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, although a number of countries have already contributed, there is still not enough money. In addition, the proposed shells need to be checked, so some of them may not reach the front until the end of the year.

According to the latest information provided by iRozhlas, about 1.5 million shells have been found for Ukraine, which is twice as many as expected, but the market price of weapons has also doubled due to high demand.

The publication writes that Prague has so far received funds from the Allies for the purchase of the first 300,000 ammunition, and another 500,000 is under development. The first deliveries to Ukraine should take place no later than June.

It will be recalled that yesterday the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Fiala stated that his country concluded contracts for the supply of 180,000 shells and is currently working on contracting another 300,000.
