The Czech Republic sharply responded to Slovakia's offer of talks with Putin

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky sharply spoke about the Slovak Government's statements on the possibility of peace talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He urged not to succumb to Russian propaganda and focus on the safety of citizens.

He also emphasized that Putin has repeatedly ignored any peaceful proposals, continuing the escalation of the conflict and striking in Ukraine daily.

The chairman of the Czech Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, Defense and Security Pavel Fisher stated that initiatives that support the "neutral position" are unacceptable, especially after numerous Russian crimes in Ukraine.

These statements were response to the words of the Slovak Minister of Slovakia Yurai Blanar, who repeated the position of Prime Minister Robert Fitzo. Blanar stated that Slovakia advocates for a peaceful settlement of the conflict, supports any peace initiative and is even ready to become a platform for future negotiations between the parties.
