The national team of Ukraine will not participate in the Judo World Championships, which will take place in 2025. This decision was made by the Judo Federation of Ukraine after the International Judo Federation (IJF) admitted athletes from Belarus.
In this year's tournament, Belarusian athletes will perform under the flag of their country, which is contrary to Ukraine's position. According to the current order of the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Ukrainian athletes are forbidden to participate in competitions that presented athletes from aggressors or aggression countries-in particular, Belarus and Russia.
The Judo Federation of Ukraine stressed that the decision to boycott the tournament is fundamental and extends to the entire national team. Thus, no Ukrainian judoist will be presented on the world championship.
It should be reminded that similar boycottes have repeatedly taken place in other sports, where the organizers or international federations ignored the calls of Ukraine and its partners on the removal of countries involved in a full -scale war against Ukraine.
