What did Zelensky reached in negotiations with Saudi Arabia

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky completed his official visit to Saudi Arabia, during which he held an important meeting in the city of Jedda with the hereditary prince, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Muhammad Bin Salman Al Saud. The main topic of negotiations was the investment in the rebuilding of Ukraine, joint projects in defense production and security issues.

The meeting was held on the eve of delegations of Ukraine and the US, scheduled for March 11 in Jedda. President Zelensky emphasized the importance of Saudi Arabia's efforts in finding ways to achieve just and long peace. He also stressed that Ukraine seeks to reach peace as soon as possible and is ready for constructive dialogue.

Other important issues discussed at the meeting were the mediation of Saudi Arabia in the release of military and civilian prisoners, as well as the return of deported Ukrainian children. Zelensky and Bin Salman also discussed the possibility of strengthening cooperation in this direction.

In addition, the leaders considered the security guarantees for Ukraine and their implementation in order to avoid the return of the war in the future. Safety challenges of both global and regional nature have become an important topic of negotiations.

The prospects for defense production in Ukraine and possible joint projects in this field were discussed separately. Ukraine is interested in intensifying cooperation with Saudi Arabia in the economic, trade and energy spheres.

Muhammad Bin Salman Al Saud has confirmed the intentions of the kingdom to invest in Ukraine and its future, which is an important signal for further strengthening of economic relations between countries.

After the meeting is completed, President Zelensky returns to Ukraine, while his team remains in Jedda for negotiations with the US delegation. According to Presidential Advisor Dmitry Lytvyn, the meeting was successful and effective.
