Will Kyiv stand the pressure of Washington and Moscow?

Ukraine may be in difficult choice by receiving an ultimatum from US President Donald Trump, who will invite Kiev to go to a peaceful agreement with Russia under Vladimir Putin. Otherwise, the US may completely stop all assistance to Ukraine.

The author of the article, Daniel Johnson, notes that Ukraine will be important for Ukraine to retain a morale against the backdrop of possible peace talks that can make Kiev give way to the Kremlin. Trump is expected to remember as a leader who stopped Russia's war against Ukraine. However, despite these ambitions, Putin has his plans and wants to change the map of Europe, bowing Ukraine to surrender, in particular through the threat of nuclear weapons. It is noted that Kyiv is currently invincible, but it is important whether Ukraine will be able to withstand without support from the United States. Europe support may also be endangered because of economic difficulties, including the influence of sanctions and customs restrictions.

According to the article, after the internal struggle in the White House, Washington significantly increased the pressure on Kyiv. The United States probably wants to control not only Ukraine's strategic resources, including rare land deposits, but also the entire range of natural resources of the country. At the same time, Putin, according to the journalist, does not hide his intentions to turn Ukraine into a vassal of Russia, which is part of his strategy for the revival of the empire. On the other hand, Trump can view Ukraine as part of the geopolitical game, seeking to make it a "subsidiary" of the United States, where political interests will outweigh the national sovereignty of Kiev. At the same time, Zelensky is still refusing to concede to the economic sovereignty of Ukraine for unclear promises from the United States. However, if he remains in office, Ukraine will not capitulate either in front of Moscow or Washington.

The article also states that Putin may be counting on diplomatic victories through talks with Trump. The Kremlin perceives these negotiations that are through the US mediation, such as a smoke curtain to control the flow of information and manipulate events in its favor. At the same time, Trump, according to the authors of the article, has already abandoned the traditional role of the United States as "Arsenal of Democracy", although his attitude to Ukraine remains uncertain. Despite the change in US policy, Ukraine will be faced with a difficult choice. Kiev may be forced to sign a peace agreement concluded through Trump and dictated by Russia, or lose important intelligence and logistics support from the US. The cessation of fire on the Kremlin may have catastrophic consequences for the moral spirit of Ukrainians, and the fall of Zelensky and the collapse of the country can only be the beginning of more serious geopolitical changes in Europe, which will later lead to the revival of the Soviet Russian Empire.

This scenario puts Ukraine in front of serious challenges, where the choice between external pressure and national interests can lead to unpredictable consequences. Whether Ukraine can withstand this bilateral pressure and maintain its independence in these conditions is a question that is now on the agenda for Kiev and the whole world.
