Will the iPhone 17 be able to surpass the Pro models

This year, Apple significantly upgraded the base models of the iPhone 16, but left them with a 60-hertz screen, which caused a lot of complaints. The company plans to move to 120 Hz, which will be provided by ProMotion technology, only next year, reports MacRumors with reference to analyst Ross Young. This technology will allow smartphones to automatically adjust the refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, which will improve the autonomy of devices and the comfort of use.

Also, basic iPhones will have the Always On Display mode, which will allow the time, date and notifications to be constantly displayed on the locked screen. This innovation can significantly improve usability.

It's unclear whether the iPhone Pro screen will get an upgrade, but it's likely that future models won't have as much of an advantage over the base variants as they do now.

Among other rumors, a large-scale upgrade of the front camera in the iPhone 17 from 12 to 24 MP is expected, since the last update happened back in 2019 with the release of the iPhone 11.

According to the leaks, Apple may do away with the Plus version in 2025, introducing a new model called the iPhone 17 Air, aimed at those who are looking for something more interesting than the standard iPhone but don't need the Pro features.

We will remind you that for the fall, Apple is planning another presentation where new Mac computers with M4 chips will be presented, as well as updated iPad and iPad Mini.
