Chile declares state of emergency due to forest fires

Chile has a state of emergency due to the rapidly spreading forest fires that led to the loss of lives of 10 people. Natural catastrophes covered the center of the country, including the tourist regions of Vinya Del-Mar and Valparaiso, where thousands of hectares of forest have already been destroyed. In Valparaisio alone, the fire covered about 7,000 hectares, surrounding the coastal cities with smoke and forcing local residents to leave their homes.

The authorities have taken steps to combat the election, closing the road between Valparaiso and the capital of Santiago because of limited visibility caused by thick clouds of smoke. In Estrella's cities and in the way, the fire destroyed about 30 homes and also demanded evacuation near the Picilem Resort.

President Chile Gabriel Borich has declared a state of emergency to provide the necessary resources to combat crisis. The fires occurred as a result of summer heat and drought that covered the southern part of South America.
