According to the US Federal Bureau, Russia is actively using misinformation to achieve several strategic goals, in particular in Germany. The FBI report published by Spiegel indicates that the Kremlin has been trying to weaken Ukraine's support for two years, discredit NATO and support the far -right party "Alternative for Germany".
The report states that Russia has concentrated its efforts in Germany after a large -scale attack on Ukraine, when Germany became one of the largest supporters of the Ukrainian government. Russian misinformation campaigns aim to destabilize Germany because of the spread of counterfeit news and propaganda, which calls doubt on NATO's actions and supports extremist groups.
The FBI also reports new sanctions against several persons and organizations, including representatives of the Russian State TV channel and its editor -in -chief Margarita Simonian. These sanctions have become part of a larger package of measures aimed at combating Russian interference in the internal affairs of other countries.
According to the documents that were in the hands of investigators, Russian agencies discussed strategies for discrediting Western countries and supporting pro -Russian political movements. One meeting states that special attention should be paid to Germany, where the purpose is to enhance internal tension and support the "alternative for Germany".
