Car prices fall due to mobilization

A new wave of legislative changes in Ukraine, including mobilization and restrictions for evasion, can significantly affect the car market.

According to Automobile Expert and Blogger Dmitry Ryannytsya, new laws can lead to significant changes in pricing in the country's automotive market.

Ryanitsa claims that in Ukraine, every tenth vehicle owner has two or more cars. With new mobilization rules that may include confiscation of vehicles, many owners can try to sell their cars quickly to avoid possible problems with the law. This, he said, will create a significant inflow of cars into the market and can lead to a decrease in prices for them during 2024.

However, the tendency to reduce prices will not last long, warns by the head of the Institute of Research Stanislav Buchachky. It points to several global factors that can change the situation. In particular, the growth of excise duties on Chinese cars in the EU and new ecological standards of Euro-7, which will enter into force since 2030, can increase the cost of cars in the European market. This, in turn, can affect car prices in Ukraine.

In addition, Buchachky notes that prices for used cars are already reduced due to economic difficulties and consequences of war in Ukraine. Demand for electric vehicles has also declined due to electricity problems, which is even more affected by the market.

Thus, although a temporary reduction in car is expected to be reduced due to possible mass sales, global trends and changes in environmental standards can lead to the opposite effect. Car owners should be prepared for possible fluctuations in prices and take into account long -term trends when making decisions on the purchase or sale of cars.
