Instead of a business trip, MP Meydych rested with his wife in Italy - mass media

In the spring and summer of 2023, the People's Deputy of Ukraine from Batkivshchyna and the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Agrarian and Land Policy Oleg Meydich received permission for business trips abroad. However, instead of performing his duties, he may have used this opportunity to relax in Italy. These suspicions are presented in the material "Investigation.Info" with reference to the court register and own sources.

Oleg Meidich had to visit Belgium and Lithuania on business trips. However, according to journalists, the deputy did not appear in these countries. Instead, according to the information received, he and his wife traveled to Italy.

Oleg Meidich with his wife

According to official documents, Meydich had to return from a business trip to Belgium on May 1, 2023, but remained abroad until May 5. In addition, during a business trip to Lithuania in July 2023, he was delayed abroad for five extra days.

Judging from the data of the court register, Oleg Meydich arrived in the Italian city of Bologna on April 28, 2023, and on May 5 he left the country through one of Milan's airports. During both trips, he was accompanied by Tatiana Meydich's wife, who also flipped to Italy that day, but returned through another airport.

Investigation.Info journalists tried to contact Oleg Meydich to comment on these suspicions. However, the answer was received from the person who presented himself as an assistant to the deputy. This man, judging by the mobile number ID, was probably himself a Meidich. All subsequent attempts to contact him and his wife have ended unsuccessfully.

The Verkhovna Rada was also unable to provide a clear answer to the questions about Meidich's trips. It was officially reported that during the periods from May 2 to May 5 and from July 24 to July 27, 2023 the deputy was on vacation. These dates coincide with the time when Meidich lingered abroad.

The editor -in -chief of the Honest Movement Oleksandr Salizhenko emphasizes that such cases where people's deputies rest abroad, seriously undermine the reputation of the Ukrainian Parliament, especially in the conditions of war. He also emphasizes that the choice of countries for such "business trips" is often associated with their attractiveness to recreation.

Media player Oksana Maksimenyuk draws attention to the fact that state officials, including MPs, according to Presidential Decree No. 27, have no right to go abroad for recreation during martial law. Such actions not only mislead the public, but also undermine the confidence of voters in their elect.
