David Beckham will receive a knight's rank

The famous English football player David Beckham will be awarded the honorary knightly rank. According to the British media, the football star will receive the title of Knight-Bakalaurra, which will officially allow him to wear the address "Sir David" and his wife Victoria-"Lady Victoria".

This is not the first recognition of Beckham's merits. Back in 2003, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for a significant contribution to the development of sports, including football. For many years, the athlete has been the face of English football, performing clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, La Galaxy, and England's national team.

Attempts to assign Beckham to the knight's rank have been made before. In particular, in 2011, his candidacy was considered in connection with active participation in the organization of the Olympic Games in London. However, the procedure was then stopped due to a tax scandal that hindered the award.

Now, according to sources, all obstacles have been removed, and the British government is ready to honor the football player as one of the most famous sports figures in the world.

David Beckham was repeatedly called the style icon, public figure and philanthropist. He is actively engaged in charity, supports children's organizations and acts as a UNICEF ambassador.

He is also a co -owner of the Inter Miami Club, which performs in the American League Major League Soccer, and continues to promote football in the United States.
