Turkey is actively increasing its internal oil and gas production, seeking to reduce dependence on imports and strengthen the country's energy security. Ajansı reports about it, referring to the statement of the Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, Alparslan Baracar.
By 2025, Turkey plans to carry out drilling work on 270 new wells, which is part of a strategic course for self -sufficiency. This is especially true in conditions of high volatility in the world energy market.
In recent years, Turkey has significantly increased investments in the exploration and production of oil and gas, opening up new opportunities both in land and in the coastal areas of the Black and Mediterranean. One of the key projects is the development of the Black Sea, where several gas fields have already been identified, including one of the largest in the country's history - the Sakaria field.
The Turkish government hopes that the growth of domestic production will not only reduce import costs that have increased rapidly in recent months, but also ensure prices for the population and business. For this purpose it is planned to attract investments to improve infrastructure, build new pipelines and develop technologies required for efficient drilling and production at great depths in the near future.
