The income of the Russian Federation from the sale of oil doubled in April 2024, despite the sanctions

According to the Russian Ministry of Finance, the Russian Federation's income from the sale of oil in April 2024 increased twice compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.053 trillion rubles (approximately $ 11.5 billion). This significant increase has occurred despite sanctions against Russia.

In April 2024, they amounted to 1.053 trillion rubles ($ 11.5 billion), and in April 2023 they were smaller than 497 billion rubles.

And total oil and gas revenues in April increased by almost 90% in the annual calculation - to 1.23 trillion rubles.

This growth is facilitated by the weakening of the ruble per year by 20% and the increase in oil prices of the main Russian brand of Urals from $ 48.67 per barrel to 70.34.

Bloomberg concludes that the Western sanctions and the price ceiling have "had a modest influence" and Russia managed to bypass them.
