Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk canceled his trip to Germany, which was planned for the end of this week. Tusk was scheduled to visit Potsdam, where he was scheduled to receive the M100 Media Award. This award recognizes individuals who contribute to the strengthening of democracy, freedom of speech and the press, as well as European mutual understanding.
According to Euractiv, Tusk canceled his visit at the last moment, citing internal commitments. Instead, Poland's Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar will represent the country at the ceremony. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was supposed to give a eulogy in Tusk's honor, also canceled his participation in the event.
It should be noted that relations between Poland and Germany have worsened in recent days. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk previously expressed his opinion that India can play a key role in restoring peace in Ukraine. He also emphasized that the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region of Russia is a manifestation of the internationally recognized right to self-defense. Tusk noted that his government is in constant contact with the Ukrainian side, although it is not involved in coordinating strategic actions with Kyiv.
