US President Joseph Biden has announced the decision to withdraw his candidacy from the upcoming presidential elections that will be held in November this year. He published this decision by appealing to the Americans on the X platform (previously known as Twitter).
"The compatriots, in the last three and a half years, we have made great progress as a nation," Biden said, listing the achievements of our administration in less than four years. However, he did not mention the help of Ukraine, which was one of the key foreign policy topics during his cadence.
"For me, it was the greatest honor in my life to be your president. Although I intended to seek re -election, I believe that in the interests of my party and the country resign and focus solely on the fulfillment of my duties of the president for the remaining period," Biden added.
The President promised to explain in more detail his decision next week.
The Candidate of the US Vice Presidents from the Republican Party, nominated by Donald Trump, Jay Di Vance, hinted that in the event of Baiden's removal from the election, the Republicans will demand his early resignation from the post of president.
"If Joe Baiden's cognitive functions do not allow him to run for re -election, then they obviously do not allow him and remain the commander -in -chief. How can one of the Democrats who push him to withdraw from the election, sincerely state that he should continue to remain president?" - said Vance on the social network H.
According to expert estimates, the most likely candidate for Biden replacement in the presidential race is his vice -president Kamala Harris. Although her candidature is considered risky, many see it a promising leader who can continue Biden's policies and support key electoral groups.
Joe Baiden's removal from the presidential election significantly changes the US political landscape and creates new challenges for both the Democratic Party and Republicans. The election campaign promises to be tense, as both parties will try to use the situation as much as possible.
