2024 became a record for the National Nuclear Energy Generation Company "Energoatom". According to the results of the year, the company was able to exceed the planned indicators and put in the power system of Ukraine for 1 billion kWh more than more electricity. The total volume of electricity produced was 53 billion kWh, which is 2% more than in 2023, and 12% more than 2022.
Petro Kotin, the acting chairman of the Board of Energoatom, emphasized that the company continues to work steadily, providing more than 60% of the needs of Ukrainian citizens and economics in electricity. Energoatom also successfully reduced the duration of routine repairs of power units, which allowed to launch all nine power units in the territory controlled by Ukraine in the winter.
An important component of the company was the direction of UAH 116.3 billion (without VAT) of own funds to support fixed tariffs for electricity for the population. This is 58% of the company's net income. In addition, in 2024 Energoatom paid UAH 28.8 billion of taxes to budgets of different levels, which is 35% more than in the previous year.
Kotin noted that such results demonstrate the high efficiency of domestic atomic generation and confirm the importance of its further development in the long run.
