The Chinese destroyer injured the divers of the Australian Navy during international waters, said Australian Defense Minister Richard Marles. The incident took place in the exclusive economic zone of Japan. The Chinese destroyer, who conducted operations in the region, ignored the request to stay at a safe distance from Australian divers, which untailed the nets around the HMAS Toowomba Navy screws. As a result of the incident, divers were minor injuries, probably due to the effects of the Chinese destroyer's sonar. This episode has occurred in the context of improving the relationship between Australia and China, which lasted for the last 18 months, including the visit of Australia Prime Minister Anthony Albanese to Beijing in November.
