Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsakhn, during his visit to Kiev, stated that Ukraine's membership in NATO and the European Union is strategically important for the security of not only Ukraine but all of Europe.
"Estonia understands that the most reliable security guarantee is in NATO's membership. We can discuss for a long time whether Ukraine's invitation to the Alliance, but it is obvious that Ukraine's support should end with reliable guarantees," Tsakhkna said.
The Estonian Minister stressed that the first step towards full membership can be intermediate forms of security guarantees. However, the final goal should be a full membership of Ukraine in both NATO and EU.
"Full membership of Ukraine in the EU and NATO will ensure not only its safety, but also the stability of the whole of Europe. This is in line with our common interests," he emphasized.
Tsakhkna also noted that Estonia remains one of Ukraine's most devoted partners, providing considerable military and humanitarian assistance to its GDP.
"We support you because we understand that you will not only fight for your country's freedom and independence, but also protect us all," the minister said.
