Metallica fans caused an earthquake in Virginia

In the city of Blexburg, Virginia, USA, fans of the Metallica band during the concert were caused by a small earthquake. According to the New York Post, about 60,000 people gathered at the stadium, and during the performance of Enter Sandman began jumping, causing seismic activity.

The Seismological Observatory of the Virgin Polytechnic Institute recorded underground shocks. According to the director of the observatory Martin Chepman, a seismographer, located approximately a mile from the scene, clearly registered fluctuations in land caused by viewers.

The minor seismic activity immediately attracted attention on social networks, where it was called "Metallica earthquake". Scientists have explained that it did not pose a threat, because its magnitude did not exceed 1.0 on the Richter scale.
