Farmers of the Czech Republic and Slovakia have blocked the border through Ukrainian grain

On February 27, the Czech and Slovak farmers blocked the border crossing on the common border near the Slovak city of Golich, protesting against imports of cheap grain from Ukraine and South America. About it reports Reuters.

Farmers drove dozens of tractors with banners and stopped working at the border crossing. They say they cannot compete with Ukrainian grain because of strict European regulations and bureaucratic restrictions and require changes in EU policy.

The protesters called on the EU Agreement and the South American Bloc Mercosur, concluded in December, as well as review the terms of import of Ukrainian agro -products. The campaign was joined by farmers from Hungary and Austria, who came out with the posters "Stop the grain from Ukraine" and "Green Agreement - A Stuffion".

Similar protests occurred at other border points, in particular on the Polish border. Farm Associations require a new agreement with Ukraine that protects the interests of EU agriculture and simplifies bureaucratic procedures for European farmers.
