Ukraine received $ 6.2 billion from Russia for gas transit during 2020-2024. From these funds, Naftogaz paid about $ 5.4 billion to the GTS operator of Ukraine for the organization of transit.
In UAH equivalent, Ukraine received about UAH 195 billion during the contract. The largest payments were made in 2020 - more than $ 1.7 billion, which is associated with higher volumes of booked capacity. In total, about 148 billion cubic meters of Russian gas to European countries were transported through the Ukrainian GTS.
As a result of the occupation of the Luhansk region, Ukraine has temporarily lost access to the gas metering station "Sokhranivka", one of two points of the entrance of Russian gas to the Ukrainian GTS. Russia has refused to move the volume of transit to another point - "Sudzha", and also reduced the payment for transit.
Due to the violation of the terms of the Naftogaz of Ukraine agreement, she appealed to international arbitration. Initially, the company demanded $ 150 million in non -reproduced capacity. At the beginning of 2024, Naftogaz increased the amount of claims to $ 843 million, leaving the right to increase these requirements before the completion of the case and the completion of the contract in January 2025.
As of the end of September 2024, Gazprom receivable for gas transportation was UAH 41.9 billion (over $ 1 billion).
