Ford Motor has announced the recall of more than 148,000 cars in the US due to technical malfunctions that can affect security. The report refers to two stages of recall related to the brake system and the transmission in different models.
The first stage covers approximately 123,000 vehicles F-150, Expedition and Lincoln Navigator, released in 2017–2018. These vehicles may result in braking fluid leakage, which causes a decrease in the efficiency of braking. In response, the company offers free replacement of defective components in dealer centers.
The second stage applies to about 25,000 Ford Explorer Model Year 2025. These cars have a problem with the transmission control module that can be reboot while driving. This creates the risk of unexpected engine stop or failure of the parking system. The company plans to update the software to troubleshoot.
Owners of vehicles that have been withdrawn will receive an official notice by May 26. It will indicate how to contact a dealer to check and eliminate problems.
