The publication writes that the conditions of preparation of troops in the center of combat training are as close as possible to the real fields of combat. The sound, heat and light of artillery fire are played, false mines are scattered everywhere, and radio communication can be interrupted without warning.
The 120 square kilometers' camp is unique in France. Its area exceeds the size of Paris and is the only place where different units of the French army, namely infantry, armored vehicles, artillery and engineers, which are usually scattered throughout the country, can conduct joint training. It is also the only place where two dozen Leclerk tanks train all year long.
Officers do not call potential enemies, but training is aimed at preparing troops for the fight against such an opponent as Russia.
