France announced to Israel the conditions for peace in the Middle East

Foreign Minister of France, Stefan Sezhurne, held a meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyag. During the conversation, the French Minister voiced the Head of the Israeli Government of Paris to establish peace in the Middle East.

The head of the French Foreign Ministry stressed that the balanced policy of France remains unchanged.

"The hostages must be released. The ceasefire agreement must be signed. A de -escalation must begin in Lebanon. These are the conditions for peace, both in Israel and in the region," Sezhurne said.

As a result of the invasion of Hamas in Israel on October 7, 2023, 250 citizens of Israel and foreign citizens were captured by hostages.

As a result of the previous rounds of autumn negotiations last year, terrorists have already released about 120 hostages, respectively, Israel also released a group of Palestinian prisoners.

In January, the USA, Egypt and Qatar presented a new peace plan to resolve the crisis in the Middle East. According to this plan, the parties must release the hostages, and Israel should stop hostilities and remove troops from the Gaza sector.

Recently, Israel informed Hamas to the Hamas group that if Islamic militants would not agree to the release of a part of 133 hostages, the Israeli army will start a large -scale military operation in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Sector.

Paris has been outraged about this operation, as it could cause a "humanitarian catastrophe", in particular due to the presence of about 1.5 million refugees from the region in the Rafah. The United States also expressed its disagreement with such Tel Aviv plans.

On April 28, Stefan Sezhurne made an official visit to Lebanon, where he discussed with the country's government officials to prevent further escalation of the conflict and the possible war between Israel and the Hezbolla group.
