France and the US propose a temporary truce between Israel and Lebanon

Paris and Washington will soon publish a joint plan to resolve the situation in Lebanon, which provides a 21-day temporary ceasefire. This was stated by French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barro at a meeting of the UN Security Council, TRT Haber reports.

"We are working with our American partners on a temporary ceasefire agreement for a period of 21 days to provide an opportunity to negotiate between Israel and Lebanon," Barro said. He stressed that this plan is aimed at protecting the civilian population and creating conditions for diplomatic talks that should prevent further escalation of the conflict.

The plan envisages immediate adoption by both parties to ensure peaceful dialogue. Israeli military action in Lebanon, which began in the south and east of the country, caused massive air strikes in settlements, resulting in dozens of civilians. In response, Hezbolla has released rockets towards Northern Israel, which exacerbated the situation.

The escalation between Lebanon and Israel began at the end of July after the Israeli forces struck the southern suburban of Beirut, destroying a dwelling house and killing seven people, including high -ranking commander of Hezbolla Fuad Shukra. This event has caused new threats to Hosbolla leader Hassan Nasralla, who stated that Israel had "crossed the red lines" and would face a rigid answer.
