France's political map may undergo significant changes before the future parliamentary elections, since one of the systemic parties of the country considers the possibility of forming an alliance with the "national association" Marin Le Pen.
According to LE Monde, the President of the Republican Party, Eric Chiotty, supported the idea of cooperation with the popular right -wing party.
One of the systemic parties of France considers the version of the Union with "National Association" Marin Le Pen in the upcoming elections to Parliament.
Eric Chiotty, President of the Republicans Party (Party of Former Presidents of France Jacques Shirak and Nicolas Sarkozy), advocated an alliance with the National Association, Le Monde reports.
"We need an alliance, an alliance with RN and its candidates. I want my political family to move in this direction," said Eric Chiotti and said he was already talking to the National Association.
Le Pen called Chiotti's statement "bold" and another RN leader Jerdan Bardell confirmed the negotiations.
This position met a "strong opposition" within his own party, some demanded his resignation, but Chiotti refused.
Rumors that "Republicans" will go to elections in alliance with Le Pen, have been in the political circles of France for several days. If this happens, it will sharply increase the chances of winning the Le Pen Party, taking into account the two -year election system to the French Parliament, when two candidates who won the highest number of votes, provided that none of them took more than 50% in the first round.
