The President of the United States of America Donald Trump has expressed confidence that a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine can be the basis for the conclusion of an agreement between the United States and Ukraine. According to the information published by the New York Post, Trump intends to discuss with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky the opportunity to sign a contract worth $ 500 million, which will give the United States access to rare metals and natural gas in Ukraine. In exchange for this, the United States will provide Ukraine with security guarantees.
Trump believes that the agreement will be possible only if the potential peaceful settlement of the conflict is achieved. In this regard, he appealed to his national security advisor Mike Wolts to organize meetings between the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine. The American leader is convinced that both presidents have the desire to meet and resolve the conflict, because, according to him, people are killed every day, including young soldiers on both sides. Trump has repeatedly stated the need to terminate the fighting and called for peace talks, confirming his telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin. Trump noted that the death of people at the front was really worried about the Russian President, and he is ready to negotiate to complete the conflict.
However, analysts from the Institute of War Study (ISW) doubt that the Kremlin intends to conclude a peace agreement with Ukraine. They claim that Russia continues to prepare for a potential expanded conflict with NATO, which indicates the Kremlin's reluctance to compromise in negotiations.
Next week, US Vice President Jay Diane plans to visit Munich to participate in the International Security Conference where he will meet with President Zelensky. Although the specific issues that will be discussed during the meeting are not disclosed, one of the main issues is to ensure the security of Ukraine and to find ways for peaceful conflict resolution.
