During a non -standing visit to Kiev, the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, Yoko Kamikawa, plans to discuss the preparation for the Conference on Economic Recovery of Ukraine. Tokyo representatives emphasize that the purpose of the visit is to support Ukraine in a difficult international situation and to discuss efforts aimed at achieving a long peace.
Kamikawa plans to consult with the Ukrainian side regarding the details of the conference planned for February in Tokyo, where Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal is expected. In addition, during her visit, she will take part in the "transmission of powerful energy equipment for help in winter preparation".
Japan, which is part of the Great Seven (G7), already applies sanctions against Russia in connection with aggression against Ukraine and provides financial and humanitarian assistance. It is noted that constitutional restrictions support Japan's pacifist position, which impedes the direct supply of weapons to Ukraine.
