In an interview with the French news agent, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed expectations of three key points that participants in the Global Peace Summit should discuss and agree.
According to Zelensky, the first point is to ensure free navigation, which provides for the protection of port infrastructure, ensuring food safety and promoting the development of the economy of countries. The second paragraph concerns the discussion of nuclear and energy security to prevent critical infrastructure. The third aspect is the exchange of prisoners and the return of illegally deported children.
According to Zelensky, the successful result of the discussion of these points during the summit will testify to the readiness of most countries to support them, and this may indicate that Russia will not block them further. In addition, Ukraine plans to develop a detailed plan for each of these aspects together with other countries at the technical level.
Ukraine expresses its readiness to establish a dialogue with all countries that support Ukraine's territorial integrity. Thus, the country is actively working on the involvement of representatives of the global south in the future summit.
The President of Ukraine stressed that different regions of the world have their unique priorities: for China it is nuclear security, for Africa and Asia - food safety, for the Arab world - the exchange of prisoners.
"Even if they have excellent views of the world, it is important to attract them because they have great influence. This influence can be in various fields, including defense - through arms or economic trade. Their support can also influence Russia. The more countries are on our side, the more reasons in Russia take into account our interests," the president emphasized.
